If you as a bureaucrat or politician, are not accountable to the people, you gain confidence that you can do anything and get away with it. Everything that raises accountability and increases the awareness of the electorate should be encouraged if we expect India to one day be a true democracy.Sagaronehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15996661303219925144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8979948133453716071.post-49559197509466978672008-12-30T12:34:00.000+05:302008-12-30T12:34:00.000+05:30Kislay,I hope he's not selected to play for India....Kislay,
I hope he's not selected to play for India...Delhi should be enough for him...Boneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15649563485896628766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8979948133453716071.post-29210599962279634192008-12-30T12:21:00.000+05:302008-12-30T12:21:00.000+05:30Our good old Railway Minster's son is an avid cric...Our good old Railway Minster's son is an avid cricketer . No. This time, the physicality may have caused death and, therefore, exposure, but I think this is routine, not the torture, but the ripping off and the extortion. We are living in an unreal world, far removed from the ugly under belly of India's politics.

Mayawati, it seems, is hopelessly corrupt and little different from her arch enemy in this respect. It is for this reason that I believe she will fall short of the PM's chair, except through post-poll manipulation. I was always her well wisher, primarily because of what she has done to the oppressive caste structure. But, I am afraid, she is falling short, horribly short, of the demands of being the PM. She just wants to get there for the sake of getting there.Vinod_Sharmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14654167848186778789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8979948133453716071.post-60140329892536161642008-12-29T15:26:00.000+05:302008-12-29T15:26:00.000+05:30Vinod,"our bureaucrats and politicians are togethe...Vinod,

"our bureaucrats and politicians are together setting all the wrong examples and very few right ones.
